Inter House Debate Competition VI-VII - 05 May 2023

The stage was set, the topic was chosen, and the competitors were ready to take on the challenge of debating whether "tourism was good or bad for the environment". It was time for the Inter-House English Debate Competition, where students from different houses came together to showcase their communication and critical thinking skills. The competition was intense, as the teams presented their arguments and counter-arguments with conviction and passion. The arguments in favour of tourism highlighted the economic benefits it brings to local communities, while also acknowledging the negative impact it can have on the environment if not managed properly. The opposing team argued that the negative impact on the environment was great and that tourism was not worth the damage it caused. It highlighted the need for responsible tourism practices that balance economic development with environmental sustainability and the crucial role that young people can play in shaping a more sustainable future. In the end, team INSPIRATORS secured the first position with their convincing arguments, and Team PROPELLERS secured the second position.
